John Fiedler co-founded SJSS, and teaches 2nd grade. Before training as an elementary school teacher, he was an English professor in Michigan and a newspaper reporter in Florence, Oregon. He has a M.A. in English from the University of Washington and an education degree from Hope College in Holland, Michigan. John enjoys introducing students to poetry.

Mallory Migliaccio has a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Western Oregon University. She has worked with students from preschool through middle school, including a year teaching 7th-9th grade English in China. Mallory currently teaches 1st grade, and has taught at SJSS since 2014.

Kaline Klaas spent 12 years as the Executive Director of Let There Be Arts, a Lincoln City non-profit that provided arts education to children. Her classroom experience includes many years in schools in Lincoln and Tillamook counties. Kaline ran her own children’s summer drama program, Laughing Moon Theater, and she teaches drama at SJSS.

Julie Fiedler is a co-founder and the director of SJSS. She is an artist and writer and taught college-level English for 20 years at Hope College and Lane Community College in Florence. She has a M.A. in English from the University of Washington, and directed Neskowin Valley School.

Jenny Donnell teaches kindergarten, and has been teaching at SJSS since 2015. She is a ceramics artist and behavioral therapist with many years experience teaching art to K-6 children in Oregon and California. She has an AA Art and Science degree from Moorpark College with an emphasis on child development, non-violent crisis intervention, and American Sign Language.

Kyla Palmer received her B.S. in Education from Northern Arizona University and was named Sedona School District Teacher of the Year in 2016. She has worked on the Oregon Coast for Neskowin Valley School and the Lincoln County School District, and currently teaches math to upper elementary students at SJSS.

Nora Sherwood teaches science illustration at the school. She has a professional certificate in Natural Science Illustration from the University of Washington and a B.A. and M.S. in Geography. She is an avid Irish musician and dancer, and owned the Bennett School of Irish Dance in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

Cyndi Daly teaches art at SJSS. She is an artist and entrepreneur who developed a private school and mobile art program in Bethany, Oregon. She has certification in non-violent crisis management and studied art at the University of Hawaii.

Jennifer Dodds teaches 5th-8th-grade literacy and social studies at SJSS. She has a B.A. in Psychology from Antioch College and extensive international teaching experience in Turkey and China.

Brandon Lucas is a musician, a certified piano technician, and the owner of Pacific Coast Pianos, a tuning and repair service. He teaches music at SJSS, and serves as the accompanist for drama productions. Brandon has a B.A. in Geography and teaches piano.
